Developed and written by digital artists Andy Campbell and Judi Alston of One to One Development Trust, WALLPAPER is an original work of short fiction told through immersive digital media. Join us for the Premiere Launch of the ground-breaking and re-imagined Virtual Reality version of WALLPAPER VR funded by Creative England’s GamesLab.
WALLPAPER follows the story of USA-based computer engineer PJ Sanders. When he returns to his remote family home on the North Yorkshire moors following the death of his elderly mother, his agenda is to close the place down and sell it. But not before he’s employed an experimental device he’s been working on, primed to help him uncover the mysterious history behind a room in the house that has remained locked since his childhood.
WALLPAPER features visually striking graphics with a rich and complex soundscape bringing it to life. A fascinating mix of sound effects, ambience, spoken word and music by indie band Mau (Barry Snaith and Erika Bach). This talk/event explores the importance of spatial sound in WALLPAPER, uncovering how the audio was generated, mixed and manipulated to compliment the narrative.
Explore the work via gamepad digitally projected at high definition, or brave the Virtual Reality version that literally transports you into the WALLPAPER world.
